Before I posted my problem I searched the forum for like problems. That’s where I got the idea to remove the backup@db file. That was suggested in a couple of solved problems.
As I mentioned, I have several backups on my external hard drive. All with separate names for different PCs. I checked the two other backups and they look OK. I was able to restore files from them. However they are a lot smaller than the one that I am having problems with. I was able to restore MS office documents from them.
There does not seem to be any problem with the external hard drive. I have been using it to transfer large amounts of music to another PC with no problem. That and backups are just about all I do with it. It is not connected to laptop unless I need it.
Please keep me in mind if you can think of anything else.
