I do not want this scan running when I am doing my show. I know it operates in the background, but the software for broadcasting is hyper-sensitive, and this scanning can cause issues.
How do I prevent this scan from running when I do not want it to? (I do not want this computer out in my way for 8 hours prior to doing my show, which is an obvious way to get the scan done.) I would like to tell Norton when to scan. If I go to Task Scheduling, there is a box that allows me to choose, I guess -- it says Manual Schedule in there, but it is grayed out and the drop down arrow does not work.
If anyone can tell me how to prevent these multi-hour scans each time, I would appreciate it.
Welcome,
There is no way to 'prevent' the scans. There is a way to 'delay' them while you do your broadcast. You will have to make time for the scan at some point. That's just a fact of keeping the computer secure.
Right click on the toolbar icon and select 'start silent mode'. Select a time length that will get you past signoff. Then turn off the silent mode and let the computer run a scan. Start a manal 'quick' scan. That shouldn't take too long.
