Where is your email account? If you are using one that is web based then your address book has been compromised. The way to resolve that is to make some changes to things and the way you operate.
First, start using an email client that is installed on your computer. Move your address book to the new client.
Go into your web account and change your password AND the responses to your security questions. the bad guys/gals have been known to change and answer or two in hopes that you won't and that leaves them a backdoor into your account after you change your password.
Keep your operating system and your security program current. Most of all keep your chair / keyboard interface fully engaged at all times
