If you do not want to lose your sleep, you have 2 choices:
1. You buy a new HDD or new PC each time you are infected. (hope not!!).
2. You buy immediately a full image backup software which will be your first line of defence.
Anything else, including AV's, is of lower importance.
I strongly recommend method number 2.
This is a zero time purchase almost mandatory!!
