Sorry not to get onto this sooner ....
Earlier you said that the scanner would not work via USB .... in that case it could not be security software blocking the operation. I'm not sure whether you have ever had it working either by USB or network connection.
I do support in this area over on Compuserve and in what I see there -- and I'm not one of the main experts -- you may need to uninstall all your Canon software both for printing and scanning and start from a clean sheet.
You may find it helpful to download the user manual on line from the Canon support site unless you get it on paper which is unusual these days.
In general the best route is to get the AIO working via its USB connecton, then get it working over a network with a wired ethernet cable to the router and then disconnect that and get the wireless connection working ......
So starting off:
Do not connect the All in One by any means and make sure it is powered down but have the USB cable ready.
Install the software from the CD and when that is completed (or earlier if the installation instructions tell you to but not otherwise) then connect the AIO with the USB cable and get it working with all its functions.
After it is functioning with the physical connection then try the wired ethernet connection and then the wireless but note the section in the manual on getting this working including if I understand it correctly installing or getting working some auxiliary function for network connections.

Hope that helps but in general scanning over a network is not straight forward.
