I'm going to be getting a new tower soon, and I'd like to move  my Norton to it.  But my relative bought it-one of those ones you can install on several computers-and logged in using his Norton account.  Will that prevent me from transferring it?

Also, has anyone figured out a way to switch back to the black background yet?  This gray text on the white background is impossible to read and hurts my eyes.

To install when the actual licence is in the name of someone else you or he has to access his Norton Management/Account which involves his email address and password when creating that. And to avoid racking up another activation (which can't be done if he has reached the limit) he would need to remove the activation on your PC which he can do in that utility by selecting it and clicking on the garbage bin icon.

Unless the background in the new version, by which I take it you mean the not yet released public beta 22.n.n.n or 2015 although Norton doesn't use the year any more, we won't know until the beta is finalized and released or if they tell us. Follow the Forum for the Public Beta here:

But you should not be using it on a working computer since it is not complete yet and could malfunction on you with no support to remedy any harm caused.

You can of course continue to use the current Version 21...... by specifically downloading that, which we can help you with when you work out the activation issue with the licensee relative.

Any more questions?
