Hi SendOfJive:
Thanks for your response. However, I believe you misunderstood me or more probablly I misspoke concerning having received an email - what I meant to say is that I received notification to update from Adobe online and, it was a true version as I had 14.0.0. and they have updated to 14.00.145. I checked out the Adobe website as to the foregoing.
Insofar as temporarily turning off Norton, I was just quizing, had to be certain, as from my experience other brands of security software must be off when downloading other software. In this case, my brief experience with Norton more or less proved to me that it is more accepting then, e.g., PC Tools, which had to be turned off while downloading most software.
Late last night I gathered all required information from Adobe to uninstall old Flash Player, and of course I know how to install the upgrade, how to have it saved or reflected in Windows/Firefox, etc. There was 5 steps. Guess what? I don't know where I parked it in my exhaustion with this aggravating issue, because I can't find my saved notes now. DRAT!
Certainly you are absolutely spot-on regarding notification to update via email. I am exceedingly cautious w/email/online.
Insofar as the link you provided to update. I read Adobe notes regarding the automatic updates and went with it. It didn't work. Hence, of my own volition I uninstalled the 14.0.0. and installed the 14.0.0.145. My Plugins Manager shows that 14.0.0.145 has been downloaded and is marked "always update" automatically, which obviously it didn't do. Having said that, I'm going to click on your provided link. I am becoming desperate for a successfull resolve to this seemingly never-ending issue! womansad:
I'll be sure to let you know the outcome.
