It would make sense to me that if you disable Norton, it would stop the tasks from running - but how do you plan on disbaling Norton? Removing it is the only way I know of disabling the entire program.
IMHO, thre doesn't seem to be any others) seeing this situation - are you absolutely sure there is nothing on your system that could be causing this besides Norton?
I am also curious about which power management tool you are really trying to use as you mention sleep and then mention hybernate??
