The problem is Windows 8.1. Several people on this forum, including myself, have found really nasty issues with Windows 8.1 and Norton 360. What's worse, Norton don't seem to be taking the problem seriously. I've been fobbed off about it, another guy was, and it looks like its your turn! Join the back of the queue for a slap with a wet fish.
Let me guess:
You click on the Norton 360 icon and it won't load. Five minutes later you might get a message telling you that there is an error found and the automated fix runs, but finds not problem. No error message appears unless you click on the 360 icon.
The Norton icon in the system tray (bottom right) does not appear in desktop mode on first bootup.
You can't access the Norton vault.
If you restart the computer it works, but never on first boot.
Sound familiar? Thought so. Just don't expect anyone at Norton to take it seriously.
