Thanks, Ian--and I would certainly encourage you to do so. That's how we originally got started ourselves: I came here when my newly-purchased copy of the first version of Norton Mobile Security for my smartphone suddenly reverted to the free version...and found the folks here so helpful that by the time I'd finished working with them to get it squared away, I stuck around. So again, welcome; I'll look forward to seeing you start rising up the contributor ranks.

As you stretch your legs here, feel free to send me or other contributors you see helping people a "Personal Message" (PM) if you have any questions. We're more than happy to help!

As to the situation you came here with, I would not consider it fully Solved just yet. Modern malware--including the really nasty kind like "rootkits"--will often invite its friends along to the party when it's compromised a machine. So one of the things you might see if you had an entrenched rootkit would be "lesser malware" and PUPs showing up every few days, even though you'd just cleaned a bunch out. (The rootkit itself, you likely would not see, because it would have subverted your operating system enough to mask its presence from your security software.)

So...let's be optimistic, and PROVISIONALLY say that you may be OK now...but run malwarebytes free again right now to verify that it thinks it's cleaned everything. Reboot and run again until it gives you a clean slate. Then wait a couple of days and run it again. If, at that time, having started from telling you you're clean, it is again finding a bunch of PUPs, let us know and we'll direct you to the recommended free removalist forums to pull any nasties out by the root(kit)! LOL Sorry--bad malware humor, I know! :smileywink:

V/R,
