Hi Exaiongamma, and welcome. Were you running MalwareBytes in real time ? If so, that's a no no.
You should only have Norton as your real time protection as two programs working in real time, can cause conflicts.
By all means run MalwareBytes Free as a passive scanner, and I suggest you run a Full Scan in Norton to confirm all is ok.
If Norton has quarantined the file, then you have the option to leave it in Quarantine where it can do no harm, or delete the file.
