Wish I had the solution for you because I have experienced a few computer glitches with Windows. I'm running Windows 8 and haven't upgraded to their 8.1. Microsoft continues to send me reminders to upgrade to the 8.1 but I've very hesitant to do so at this stage of the game. I've had a few problems with Windows 8 and running Norton. I think Microsoft wants everyone to use Kaspersky security program. My computer came loaded with Kaspersky on it and Norton was able to remove it. Seems there was a definite conflict going on and once Kaspersky was completely uninstalled things ran smoother.
Did you upgrade to 8.1 from Windows 8 or did you buy it with the 8.1? Is Kaspersky security program installed on yours? Just a thought that maybe it could be causing a conflict.
