Okay I give up. Something happens between Norton and Chrome which appears deeper than an easy fix. Thanks Nikhil_CV for the 360 instructions. I reinstalled 360, but no change.
So, I got rid of Chrome Canary early, reinstalled Chrome twice, cleared up possible conflict by removing an old Identity Safe entry and gaining 25% CPU. Plus learned several things. So thanks to everyone for participating.
