I have a cyberpower pc with windows 8 latest version. In the bios I turned on power saving mode. This turns off fast boot as well as other things like lowering overclocking. Overclocking increases error correction redoes in the system so the lowering of overclock is not directly penalized as error correct is less needed. I play the latest games and have no trouble with this setting though my machine is highend. System is smoother and I am happy with it. You might give it a try.
