Thanks for that speedy response.  

 

I do not know what it wrong but if you are happy to allow me to ask a few more questions and try a few things I am happy to try and help.

 

Is most of the 300 GB on the second drive Norton backup files?

 

How large does the Preview option of Norton backup say your backup file should be?

 

I am wondering if changing the name of the existing set may have confused the system in some way.  Did you have any problems before you changed the name or did you do the name change and create the new set after you noticed the problem?

 

Have you still got the old, renamed sets as an active set and if so when did you last run it?

 

You might like to set up a new backup set designed to just back up a few files.  Run it and try restoring one or two of the files to the original or a new location.  That should tell us if the basic system is working or not.

 

I think that must be enough for now, I await your response with interest.

 

P.S.  Please pardon my comments about backups to internal drives as I had not been aware of your weekly external backup.  :smileywink:
